Hundreds of people from across Texas gathered Wednesday in Van Zandt County for the funeral of sheriff's deputy Adam Sherifi, who was killed in the line of duty.

Sherifi's friend Abel Barrientos spoke about him, saying the day was about more than the badge he wore or the uniform he put on.
