Iowa Colony junior quarterback Izard Evans was named Gulf Coast Auto Park Player of the Week for Week 9. In a 42-8 win over Fort Bend Dulles last week, Evans completed 11 of 17 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns.

Evans is a first-year quarterback for the Pioneers. He recently joined the Iowa Colony football team after serving in a reserve quarterback role at Fort Bend Crawford last year.
