The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) Board of Directors has elected three directors to its Executive Committee. Their terms began Oct. 1, 2026. The new members are DeKalb Mayor Lowell Walker, Mount Pleasant Mayor Wesley Lyon II and Dana Reeves of the Franklin County Water District. Each will serve a two-year term.
ATCOG Executive Director Mary Beth Rudel said the group will help address regional priorities and support local governments in Northeast Texas and Miller County, Arkansas. "We're pleased to welcome Mayor Walker, Mayor Lyon and Dana Reeves to the Executive Committee," Rudel said. She said their perspectives will help strengthen regional cooperation.
The Executive Committee has 16 members, including a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and 12 additional members. It carries out policies set by the Board of Directors and normally meets monthly. The new members join under board president Morris County Judge Doug Reeder, who took the role Oct. 1.
