The deadline to register to vote, or update voter registration information, for the El Paso City Council runoff elections is Thursday, Nov. 12, according to the El Paso County Elections Department.

Three of the four city representative races on the ballot were undecided in the Nov. 3 election because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in those districts. The runoffs are District 1, with incumbent Alejandra Chávez facing Sam Armijo; District 6, with incumbent Art Fierro facing Jesse Moreno; and District 8, with incumbent Chris Canales facing Matthew Guzman. Registered voters in those districts can vote in the runoff even if they did not vote on Nov. 3.

District 5 incumbent Ivan Niño won his race outright, defeating political organizer Richard Genera. To vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen and must be 18 years old by Election Day, Saturday, Dec. 12. Early voting runs from Monday, Nov. 30, to Tuesday, Dec. 8, and the deadline to apply for a mail ballot is Dec. 1.
