More than 8,500 people attended the fourth annual Trunk or Treat held by the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) on October 27, 2026, at PSJA Stadium in Pharr. This year's Halloweentown theme invited guests to dress as favorite characters from Halloweentown or the Disney universe. Families enjoyed decorated trunks, games, candy, music and information about PSJA ISD's literacy initiatives. A costume contest offered prizes in several categories.
PSJA Memorial Early College High School was named the Most Spirited Feeder Pattern. Zeferino Farias Elementary won the Most Spirited Campus award for the second year in a row. The competition was meant to encourage collaboration and school pride among feeder schools across the district.
Superintendent Dr. Alejandro Elias said the event reflects the community spirit of PSJA and offers a safe, positive way for students and families to celebrate Halloween. He thanked local vendors, sponsors, schools and departments for their support.
