Early results show voters across North Texas voting down several large tax and bond proposals. The measures would have raised hundreds of millions of dollars for public safety, homelessness programs and a sports arena. In Dallas County, votes were still being counted on Proposition A, a property tax increase to fund homelessness outreach, housing and mental health treatment. With 80% of precincts reporting, early results showed it failing.

The City of Dallas' Proposition A, a bond of more than $440 million for police training facilities, emergency operations and replacing older police buildings, was also projected to fail. Supporters said the money is needed to finish a police training facility at UNT Dallas, which broke ground in September. Critics objected to a part of the bond that would move the 911 call center out of Dallas City Hall, arguing it would start the city's move away from the historic building. The Dallas city manager called the bond an important step to strengthen public safety. The campaign supporting the bond said it will push for better bond language next May.

In Plano, 55% of voters cast ballots against a special venue tax. The tax would have helped pay for a new Dallas Stars arena at the Willow Bend site. Plano leaders said they will find another way to fund the project.
