Halloween falls on Saturday, and state officials are reminding Texas families to take extra precautions as children and adults go out for trick-or-treating, fall festivals and other celebrations.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department of Transportation urge drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and watch closely for pedestrians. The agencies said the advice applies especially in residential neighborhoods, where children may be walking after dark.
