Pampa Mayor Mike Borger, on behalf of the City Commission, signed a proclamation recognizing the 100th anniversary of First Presbyterian Church of Pampa. The church was founded in 1926. The proclamation declares October 2026 as the church's 100th Anniversary Month and encourages residents to join in the celebration.

The proclamation says members of the congregation helped found Sheltered Workshop, Genesis House, Tralee Crisis Center, Community Daycare Center and Good Samaritan House, and that the church supported those organizations. It also notes that many members have served on the boards of governmental and charitable groups.

At the signing ceremony, Borger said, "I know what kind of difference a church makes in a town." He added, "To do that for one hundred years, wow. It's an incredible thing to keep going this long."
