The SPCA of Texas is waiving adoption fees at a free Halloween event in Dallas on Thursday, October 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Trunk or Treat event will be held at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive, according to the organization's announcement.
The event will include trunk-or-treating, decorated vehicles handing out treats, a photo booth and costume contests for children, adults and pets. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes, and families may bring their pets. People can RSVP through the SPCA's event page. The announcement did not say how many animals or which types would be available for the fee-waived adoptions, so the organization advised prospective adopters to confirm availability with shelter staff.
The SPCA has also scheduled mobile adoptions at the Halloween Family Festival at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora Street, on Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to its calendar.
