Northbrook High School in Houston qualified for the football playoffs for the first time in the school's 52-year history. The Raiders beat Sam Houston Math, Science and Technology Center 35-0 on Nov. 6 at Tully Stadium, according to ABC13 Houston.

The win gives Northbrook its first winning season since 1993, the report said. Head Coach Demond Stafford said the team's long wait was a source of frustration for earlier players. "History, 52 years of frustration for everyone that has come before us, this one's for them," Stafford said.

Senior captain Guillermo Macias said the team's hard work had paid off. Senior captain Kenneth Paulk said the team's mood was "better than ever." The Raiders have not yet learned their first-round playoff opponent.
