The Brown County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that deputies and Brownwood police responded at about 5:24 p.m. Friday to a home just outside the Brownwood city limits on Abilene Street. The caller reported two dead people inside.

Officers found Robert Clinton Hamill Sr., 57, and Billie Yoakum Hamill, 50, dead from apparent gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said. The caller was identified as Robert Clinton Hamill Jr., 29.

According to the sheriff's office, Hamill Jr. was interviewed and arrested for capital murder in the deaths of two or more people. Justice of the Peace Mitchell Jacobson magistrated him, and he is being held in the Brown County Jail without bond. The sheriff's office said it does not believe there are further safety issues for county residents.
