Jeneise Wood, owner of a restaurant off Maple Avenue in Dallas, says David Oliver returned to the business on Thursday and threatened to set it on fire again. Wood said she learned of his arrest after the visit. Surveillance video shows Oliver at the restaurant banging on the doors, according to the report.

Court records show Oliver was sentenced to three years of probation on July 21 in connection with an arson charge tied to a fire in March. As part of his plea agreement, he was ordered to have no contact with the restaurant. Dallas County court records show Oliver has faced 15 criminal cases since 2022.

Wood said five people were in the building when the March fire started. She questioned whether the criminal justice system has done enough to protect business owners, particularly after Oliver received probation. She shared photos showing damage to the restaurant's ceiling in several places.
