Residents of The Grand Buffalo Run apartments on N. Judge Ely Blvd. said about 40 vehicles were towed with little warning on Nov. 2. Residents said they did not receive notice until about 9:50 a.m. that morning, through the apartment's resident portal. Some said management later claimed advance notice had been given.
A resident named Brandy said the notice was not enough. She said the only message she received came an hour before she checks her email, and that she missed it. She said she asked the main manager, identified as Michelle, whether she could sleep at night. Residents said some vehicles were moved to an overflow lot at a nearby location before being taken to Jack's Towing. They said towing and storage fees ranged from about $200 to $400.
A resident named Lauren said the towing company told residents that management was asked whether the cars could be relocated or left in the overflow lot, and that management declined. Several residents said their concerns go beyond the towing, citing ongoing problems with management communication, and some called for new management.
