Texas Gov. Greg Abbott made his final campaign stop in San Antonio on Monday, hours before voters head to the polls for the Nov. 3 midterm elections. News 4 San Antonio carried the event live.

Ahead of Election Day, The Texas Tribune spoke with voters in Odessa, an oil-and-gas town in West Texas. The voters it interviewed were divided. Some said high prices for gas and groceries were a concern, but they said their conservative beliefs would guide their votes. Eugenio and Margarita Bersosa said anti-abortion laws, support for Israel and policies on transgender people mattered more to them than rising costs. They voted for the full Republican ticket.

Sandra Ward, 83, said she voted for the Republican slate. She said she does not like some things about Attorney General Ken Paxton, including allegations of infidelity, and that she thinks Abbott could have done more on data center development. She said shared values drove her vote.

Kathleen Hamilton, 54, a county employee and U.S. Navy veteran, said she voted for candidates from both parties but did not say which ones. She said Republicans have not maintained a healthy economy and have limited reproductive healthcare access for women.
