CHRISTUS Health is sharing safety reminders ahead of Halloween to help families enjoy trick-or-treating and neighborhood celebrations safely.
The health system suggests choosing costumes that drivers can see, using reflective materials or glow sticks, and carrying flashlights. It also says costumes should fit properly to prevent trips and falls. Families are encouraged to use sidewalks, cross at designated crosswalks and stay alert to traffic.
CHRISTUS also reminds parents to inspect Halloween candy before children eat it. It says younger trick-or-treaters should be accompanied by a trusted adult.
