The Lufkin Police Department reported five arrests made late Friday or early Saturday. Those arrested were Juan Alberto Villarreal, 35, charged with assault causing bodily injury/family violence; Christine Ann Vasquez, 54, held on a warrant for a parole violation; Anthony Patlan, 18, charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and marijuana possession; Stephen Walter Yates, 68, charged with drug possession and paraphernalia offenses and held on a warrant over grass, weeds or brush; and Richard Javier Lopez, 40, charged with public intoxication. All five are from Lufkin.
The Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested Jacob Will McCreary, 38, of Lufkin, on warrants for burglary of a habitation, drug possession and arson with intent to damage a habitat or place of worship. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Stephen Louis Gilbert, 60, of Lufkin, on a warrant for deadly conduct.
The Angelina County Jail housed 418 inmates as of 3:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the newspaper's report.
