The Brackett Storage in Brackettville has changed ownership and now operates as Outpost Self Storage and Parking. The sale was completed September 25, according to the company. Owner Tommy Xaysongham said the new name reflects the town's location and military history. The Brackettville location is the group's first self storage project in Texas. The facility was previously owned by Xavier Malave and Fania Corral, who acquired it about a year earlier.
Xaysongham said security and accessibility are priorities. Planned improvements include additional security cameras, enhanced lighting, pest and rodent control, and about a dozen new boat and RV parking spaces. Most rentals and payments will be handled online or by phone. Existing customers must make payments through www.outpost-selfstorage.com. Automatic payments set up under the old name do not transfer and must be set up again. The company offers a discount to veterans, law enforcement and first responders.
The business is coordinating with the Brackettville Chamber of Commerce on a ribbon-cutting ceremony, planned for Thursday, October 29. The time has not been set.
