The board of trustees for the Jacksonville Independent School District named Sara Gill as the lone finalist for superintendent. The unanimous vote took place Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The vote starts a 21-day waiting period required by state law. After that period, trustees may consider final employment action.

Gill will replace Brad Stewart, who is retiring in December.
