DJs at the Polls, a national nonpartisan nonprofit, is sending local DJs to play music at ballot boxes across Tarrant County on Tuesday. The group said 40 locations will have DJs, with music ranging from hip-hop and R&B to afrobeats, pop and gospel.

DJ Chris Marshall will be outside three polling locations: O.A. Peterson Elementary School, Lake Country Church and Sunset Valley Elementary School. Marshall, who also works as an outreach and advocacy specialist for the city of Dallas, said the music can help voters get in the right mindset before they vote. Phones and wireless devices are not allowed inside polling places.

Marshall said he hopes to encourage more people to vote or make the voting experience more enjoyable. "It's (time) for us to count for ourselves, for our communities, our families and the overall tone of the country," he said.
