Chevron, Kent Kwik and DonorsChoose announced the final results of the Fuel Your School campaign in West Texas on Tuesday. The campaign provided $50,000 for 74 classroom projects at pre-K through 12 public and charter schools in Midland and Odessa, affecting 2,555 students.

Local teachers, librarians, guidance counselors and school nurses submitted project requests during October, according to a news release. The funded projects put 135 books, 337 educational kits and games, 164 food, clothing and hygiene items, and 139 art supplies into classrooms, the release said.

Valerie Acosta, lead advisor at Chevron, said the response from West Texas educators this fall was inspiring. Kaitlin Bryant, a teacher at Jones Elementary School in Midland, thanked Chevron and Kent Kwik for supporting her class project. Madison Ross, with Lauro Cavazos Elementary School in Odessa, also thanked donors for the materials.
