Clothed by Faith, a Katy nonprofit founded in 2013, has opened the Clothed by Faith Boutique at 802 Dominion Drive, Suite 500, in Katy. The store sells premium donated items, and proceeds will support the group's efforts to provide clothing to children and adults across the Greater Houston area. According to the nonprofit, more than 175,000 people have received clothing through its programs since it was founded.
The organization said the boutique is designed to turn higher-value donations into money for clothing essentials, such as new underwear, socks, and clothing needed for school or work. The group said it is different from a traditional thrift store. Clothed by Faith supplies individuals with a week's worth of clean, properly fitting, seasonally appropriate clothing.
The nonprofit works with more than 100 community agencies and 21 school districts, and operates six Closets for Schools. It has also launched an eBay charity store, where proceeds from online sales also support its clothing programs. The boutique is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
