Scott Brooks, 60, is preparing to retire as head football coach at Canutillo High School after 28 seasons. He has led the Eagles since arriving in 1999. Brooks said he is concerned about the program's future. "I am worried about it, because I want them to continue to be successful," he said. "But it ain't my decision."

During his time at Canutillo, Brooks has guided the team to more than 200 victories and multiple district championships. The Eagles also made a historic appearance in the 2014 UIL Class 5A Division 2 state semifinals. The program has grown from a modest team into one of the most successful in El Paso history, according to the report.

Canutillo enters its regular-season finale on Nov. 6 at El Paso High School with a 7-2 record. The Eagles have already secured a playoff berth.
