Gray County Elections Administrator Randa Hiett spoke at the monthly meeting of the Top O' Texas Republican Women on Wednesday. The group's president, Kathryn Green, introduced her. Hiett said the election is on Tuesday, November 3, and that the last day to register is October 5. She said voters can change their registration in person at her office or at votetexas.gov. She asked people not to change voter registration through Facebook or other online apps, saying those apps do not communicate with her office.

Hiett said early voting runs from October 19 through the 30th at the courthouse in Room 104. She gave the first week's hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. She said curbside voting is available for voters who cannot safely enter the building and prefer not to vote by mail. Those voters can call a phone number posted on a cone, and election workers will bring the materials out to them. Election Day voting is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at each voter's assigned precinct polling place.

Hiett said voters do not need their voter registration card to vote. Registered voters need a photo ID at the polling location. She said voters can check their precinct or registration status at votetexas.gov.
