A man dressed in zombie makeup and a costume stabbed two people Wednesday night at Buzz Mill Coffee, 1505 Town Creek Drive, in Southeast Austin, police said. The stabbing happened at 8:54 p.m., after the man caused a disturbance at the coffee shop, according to the Austin Police Department. Police said both victims were seriously injured, and one was in critical condition.
Police said the man then drove away in a pickup truck at high speed and hit an unoccupied Tesla Cybercab. Officers later took him into custody. Police said he will likely face aggravated assault charges. People at the coffee shop told police the man had caused a disturbance there before Wednesday night, but APD could not provide details about earlier incidents.
Police said detectives are working to determine whether the man had any relationship with the victims. CBS Austin reached out to Austin-Travis County EMS for more information.
