Emails show border wall work in Big Bend paused before court order
Emails shared with Marfa Public Radio show federal officials paused part of the Big Bend border wall construction a week before a judge's order.
Emails shared with Marfa Public Radio show that U.S. Customs and Border Protection quietly paused construction on part of the Big Bend border wall. The pause came a week before a federal judge ordered the work halted.
A CBP official wrote that the internal pause was caused by a lack of access to private land and a federal contractor's demand for more money, according to the emails.
