Several teachers at Liberty-Eylau Independent School District received classroom grants on Monday morning. District administrators and school board members visited each campus and handed out grant checks to teachers in front of their classes.
The district's Education Foundation awarded almost $17,000 in total. That is more than double the amount the foundation gave in the spring.
Grant recipients include Maddie Pipes, who received $2,245 for an iPad project for kindergarten students. David Burden received $1,949.98 for a sensory space project. Mende Styles received $1,544.00 across three science and chemistry curriculum projects.
