AUSTIN, Texas — Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa announced the leadership of her By and For the People transition team on Nov. 5, according to a post on her X account.
In the post, Hinojosa said her team will announce ways to get involved in the transition and the incoming administration in the coming days. She pointed people to governorhinojosa.com to learn more about the team. The announcement came two days after Hinojosa defeated Gov. Greg Abbott. She is scheduled to take office Jan. 19, 2027.
The move is separate from Republican calls for a special session to limit the governor's emergency powers before Hinojosa is sworn in.
