Hempstead police are investigating a shooting that killed a 25-year-old Navasota man, JaQuarian "Qua" Williams. Officers responded on Sunday, Nov. 1, to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Austin Street, near the Circle K convenience store. Williams leaves behind a 2-year-old son and his girlfriend.
The Hempstead Police Department said Thursday that the investigation is active and no arrests have been made. Detectives are conducting interviews, reviewing evidence and working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They say they are especially interested in people who left before officers arrived.
