The Lions Club District 2S-5 presented the E.B. "Tex" Mayer Award to Robert Fait of the Sealy Lions Club for his civic commitment and leadership. The award was presented at the district's annual convention in April 2026.
District Governor Kelli Higgins said at the ceremony that Fait has shown unparalleled dedication to Lionism. She said he reflects the leadership legacy of Tex Mayer, a past district governor and member of the La Grange Noon Lions Club who was inducted into the Texas Lions Hall of Fame in 1972.
The award is given each year to the district's "Outstanding Lion of the Year." It recognizes volunteers whose work has a significant impact on local health, youth programs and civic improvements. The district is a regional chapter of Lions Clubs International.
