The San Augustine Rotary Club is inviting residents to sponsor a lighted angel for this year's Christmas season. The program is called the City of Angels. Individuals, families, businesses and organizations can sponsor a four-foot angel to honor someone who is living or to remember someone who has died. Each sponsorship costs $275.

To have angels displayed this year, orders must be submitted by October 31. The club said orders will be accepted year round. The angels will be displayed at Sassafras Park at the Fussell Cotton Gin.

The club said proceeds from the sponsorships will go to the Rotary Fund. The money will support future community and educational projects in San Augustine. The City of Angels will be one of three places to view lights this season, along with the lighting of the courthouse square and the Trail of Lights at Mission Dolores.
