Tropical Smoothie Cafe is opening its 10th location in the Alamo City this weekend. The grand opening ceremony begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the new store at 7411 N. Loop 1604 East, according to company officials.
The first 50 customers in line will receive free smoothies for a year. Other guests at the grand opening giveaway can buy $1.99 smoothies all day, the owners said.
The Atlanta-based chain sells customizable smoothies and breakfast items such as flatbreads, açaí bowls and bacon wraps. It also offers lunch and dinner entrees, including a turkey bacon ranch sandwich, quesadillas and protein-filled wraps. The company has operated in San Antonio since at least 2018 and has more than 1,750 locations nationwide.
