Site Selection magazine has named Texas America's top business climate for the fourth year in a row, according to a statement from Governor Greg Abbott's office. The ranking was based on a survey of corporate real estate executives and site selectors, along with factors including regulation, entrepreneurship and innovation, and the number of job-creating relocation and expansion projects.

Earlier this year, Abbott accepted the magazine's Governor's Cup, which the statement said was a record 14th consecutive win for Texas as the nation's top-performing state for job-creating business relocations and expansions. Texas also won the 2026 Prosperity Cup from the magazine, which recognizes the top state for attracting new business investment.

Abbott said Texas, which he described as the world's eighth-largest economy, offers an environment where firms of many sizes and industries can grow. The Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, within the Governor's Office, promotes the state as a business location and travel destination.
