Tattoo artists across Texas said they received many booking requests for custom bluebonnet designs and Texas-themed artwork with blue accents shortly after election results were declared.
In the Dallas area, tattoo artist Cary Adams, who works at Iron Ink Tattoo in Irving, said he started bluebonnet specials to reflect the post-election mood. "Texas finally bloomed blue," Adams said. Adams said she booked three appointments almost right after the results.
In Lubbock, tattoo artist Sam Gaitan, who works under the name Raicodoll Ink at The Brand Tattoo Studio, said a bluebonnet design she posted online hours after the polls closed drew an immediate response. "I've been absolutely flooded with messages and people wanting bookings," Gaitan said.
