A man was seriously injured in a stabbing Tuesday morning in Colorado City, and a suspect was arrested, police said.
Dispatch received a 911 call about 5:30 a.m. from a man who said he had been stabbed in the 1900 block of Colorado Street. According to the Colorado City Police Department, he was taken to Mitchell County Hospital in a personal vehicle with serious injuries.
Officers located the suspect at a residence in the 1800 block of Austin Street. Police said the suspect tried to run from officers but was taken into custody about 7 a.m.
School officials were notified as a precaution before students arrived. Police said the incident was isolated and there was no threat to the public.
