Visit Early said the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) will return to Lake Brownwood on Saturday, Oct. 31, for its third divisional tournament of the season in the West Division. Anglers will begin arriving Friday for registration.

The tournament is expected to include 130 teams from 29 high schools, with about 260 student anglers competing. Participants will compete for a total of $8,650 in prizes and scholarships, including $6,000 in guaranteed scholarships.

The event will also include the THSBA's annual Toy Drive. Anglers and supporters are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to check-in or weigh-in on Saturday. Visit Early will distribute the toys to children in Brown County.

Denise Hudson-Brian, director of Visit Early, said tournaments like this one bring an economic benefit to local hotels, restaurants and businesses. THSBA is a statewide nonprofit that serves more than 3,000 student anglers from about 250 Texas high schools.
