Kaufman County officials are preparing a job fair aimed at people currently serving probation terms. The event is set to run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kaufman County Courthouse.

Adult probation officer Gonzalez, with Kaufman County, said the effort is meant to help with community reintegration as well as filling job openings. "Employment is a vital component of building stability and moving forward," Gonzalez said. Organizers said participants can practice professional communication, learn about application processes and explore career paths.

Organizers are reaching out to local businesses and community partners to take part. People on probation who want to attend should register through their probation officer.
