Work on the US 190 bridge over Lake Livingston, between Onalaska and Oakhurst, began Monday. The project includes repainting the bridge, repairing concrete and guard rail, and applying an epoxy overlay to the bridge deck. Traffic patterns will change during the work, and temporary traffic signals will control traffic on the bridge.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the work will not affect access to the Patrick's Ferry boat ramp. Wilmington, North Carolina-based contractor Cekra, Inc. is performing the work. Drivers should plan for possible delays and use caution in the work zone.
TxDOT also has other projects underway in Polk County. Crews will prepare FM 1988 for seal coating, and they will also do road patching, sign maintenance and herbicide application.
