St. Anthony Catholic School's cross country and volleyball seasons have ended, the school said. Coach Sarah Moore worked with students through the running season. At the team's final meet at Faith Academy, Samuel Gonzales placed 15th and Carley Aaron placed 13th. Earlier, Aaron placed 15th at a meet in Hallettsville.
The school announced several athletic awards. Carley Aaron received MVP for cross country, Samuel Gonzales received Most Improved, and Laney Glueck received Fighting Heart. Volleyball awards went to players on the B Team and A Team, and co-ed flag football awards went to Beau Neal, Louise Glueck and Patrick Smith. The school said its volleyball team took part in several tournaments and a serving contest for third through fifth graders.
The school will hold a Veterans Day Mass on Friday, Nov. 6, at 8:15 a.m. St. Anthony said it would welcome community members to join in honoring those who served.
