Several law enforcement agencies are searching for an inmate who escaped custody at a dialysis clinic in the 3600 block of West Erwin Street in Tyler, according to KLTV. Smith County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Clayton Taylor identified the inmate as Ricardo Rodriguez-Medina, 27.
Taylor said the inmate escaped while receiving treatment at the Fresenius Medical Care, West Tyler Dialysis clinic and fled the building. Rodriguez-Medina was in jail on charges of online solicitation of a minor and sexual assault of a child. He had been arrested on October 8.
Residents in the west Tyler area near Willow Brook Country Club and Aldi Groceries may see police presence in their neighborhoods. Some officers will have K9 units, and drones are also in the air as the search continues.
