Palo Duro Pipelines (Texas Gathering) L.P. has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to renew Federal Operating Permit No. O3944 for the Hobart 277 Compressor Station, a natural gas extraction facility, according to a TCEQ public notice. The application was received by TCEQ on August 28, 2026.
The site is south of the town of Canadian, about 1.8 miles east on FM 277 from its intersection with Highway 83, in Hemphill County. TCEQ said the purpose of a federal operating permit is to improve overall compliance with air pollution control rules by listing all applicable requirements.
TCEQ said the draft permit, if approved, would set the conditions under which the facility must operate. The permit would not authorize new construction.
