The Houston Texans lost 27-21 in overtime to the Giants on Sunday, dropping to 2-5. They enter their bye week looking to regroup. The team lost its first four games, then won two straight, including a victory over Jacksonville, the AFC South leader.

Coach DeMeco Ryans said the mood is not good after the loss. "Of course, the morale is not great," he said. He said the team needs to get back to work and attack the rest of the season with a great attitude, energy and purpose.

The defense has been a major problem. Last season, Houston led the NFL in yards allowed, at 277.2 per game, and ranked second in points allowed, at 17.4 per game. This season, the Texans rank 18th in yards allowed, at 342 per game, and 19th in points allowed, at 24.3 per game. The team returned all but one starter from last season's defense.
