The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District board of trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 to consider joining a class action lawsuit. The suit seeks to recover damages due to youth social media usage and addiction.

If the district joins, it would do so on a contingent fee basis. That means the district would not pay an hourly or upfront cost. Its attorneys would instead receive a percentage of the total amount recovered.

Board members will also take part in a training on setting goals. The meeting will be held in the Benson Board Room at 601 Dean St. The district livestreams its board meetings on its YouTube account.
