The trial of Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, is now in its second week. Prosecutors allege Conway paid another man to kill Dallas rapper MO3, whose real name is Melvin Noble, in a 2020 ambush on Interstate 35 in Dallas. Prosecutors say the killing was carried out over a long-running feud. Conway has pleaded not guilty to capital murder and denied involvement. The trial is expected to last about two weeks.

The defense said records show a 26-day California hotel stay that prosecutors tied to the murder was first booked for three days, before Conway's family joined him. The defense also said informant Cedric Bradley first said he knew nothing about the killing, and only named Kewon White after facing possible decades in prison and federal RICO charges during unrecorded debriefs. The defense also argued for an alternate motive involving co-defendant Devin Brown.

Before the jury was dismissed for the weekend, the judge heard a prosecution objection to video evidence from the defense. Prosecutors argued Brown's videos, social media posts and statements were hearsay. The judge sustained the objection as to audio containing Brown's statements. Court will resume Monday morning.
