A 39-year-old man died after bar employees fired at him early Monday in Abilene, police said. Officers were called to a bar in the 4100 block of South Danville just before 1 a.m. Monday, November 2, after reports of gunfire.

Police said the man, Jeffery Denardos Tiggs, had an address in Georgia. A Justice of the Peace pronounced him dead at the scene, police said, and his next of kin has been notified. Police said Tiggs had been escorted out of the bar earlier that evening after causing a disturbance involving a female patron. Police said he threatened security staff as he left, then returned with a weapon and threatened security and other patrons. Police said employees who saw this got firearms from their vehicles and fired, critically injuring Tiggs.

The investigation is ongoing. Police said they will release more information as it continues. KTXS will update this story as details become available.
