Democrat Zack Dunn defeated Republican incumbent Marc LaHood in the race for Texas House District 121, according to the San Antonio Current. Dunn is a former U.S. Air Force attorney and a Bexar County special victims prosecutor. He will hold elected office for the first time.

Dunn's win was one of at least six state House seats Democrats flipped in the 2026 midterms, the Current reported. Results for other races were still being counted. Dunn said no Democrat had held the seat since 1981.

The district stretches from Alamo Heights to Bulverde. The Current reported that about half of its households earn $100,000 or more a year. LaHood was elected in 2024 after Gov. Greg Abbott backed him in the GOP primary. Abbott did so to oppose the seat's previous occupant, Steve Allison, for voting against Abbott's voucher program. Dunn's priorities include veterans' health services, public education and workforce development.
