Needville High School junior Owen Kaminski, 16, showed the grand champion hog at the county fair on Sunday. His 13-year-old niece, Kileah Wilkerson, an eighth-grader at Needville Junior High, showed the reserve champion.

Kileah said her pig and Owen's pig are siblings. It was her first time showing a pig at the county fair. She has previously shown poultry. Owen won a reserve grand champion trophy in 2019, when he was 9. He later won reserve grand champion roaster banner and then grand champion roaster banner.

The two pigs will be among the first sold at the Junior Livestock Auction on Thursday. Kileah said she is excited to sell her hog and use the money for college someday. Owen plans to attend Texas Tech University and study animal science, with a focus on swine management. Kileah wants to become a medical psychologist and plans to attend LSU.
