The Pflugerville ISD Rezoning Task Force voted to recommend Map 10 to the board of trustees at its Oct. 20 meeting. The map sets new elementary attendance zones after the board voted to close Dessau, Parmer Lane, Pflugerville and Windermere elementary schools at the end of the 2026-27 school year.

The task force, made up of parents, community members and staff, was formed at the start of the semester. Its draft maps were reviewed through a public hearing, community meetings at each closing campus and a ThoughtExchange survey with more than 250 responses. Rachel Naugle, the district's director of school improvement and the task force facilitator, said Map 10 adds dual-language changes and "legacy rules" that let students enrolled through the 2026-27 school year keep attending their current school until they finish fifth grade.

The task force will not rezone schools east of SH 130. A new committee will take up that area, along with middle and high school boundaries, starting in January. The board is scheduled to hold a first reading of the Map 10 recommendation at its Nov. 2 workshop meeting. Naugle said the goal is to finalize the zones before winter break.
