Midway defeated Killeen Harker Heights 52-43 on Thursday night at Panther Stadium in a district game. According to the Waco Tribune-Herald, the win ended Harker Heights' run atop the district and gave Midway the outright district title.

Midway had spent years chasing Harker Heights, the newspaper said. Senior quarterback Cort Strickland and senior running back Lathan Whisenton combined for six touchdowns, and both were interviewed after the game.
