The Salvation Army is asking for donations to help provide its annual Thanksgiving meal. Organizers expect to serve between 400 and 500 people.
Teresa Harden said the kitchen needs turkeys, boxed dressing, green beans, fried onions and corn. She said she has five turkeys and needs 55 more. "Donations is everything," Harden said. "I don't want no one ever to go hungry."
The meal will include turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, corn, dessert and a beverage. The Salvation Army will serve the meal and handle cleanup. Volunteers can register online at Salvation Army Abilene. Donations can be dropped off at 1726 Butternut St., Abilene, TX 79602.
