The Galveston County Jail confirmed to ABC13 that a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy has been charged with driving while intoxicated, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and resisting arrest, search, or transport.
The jail said Cedric Cornell Walter, 29, was arrested on Saturday around 2 a.m. in the 7000 block of the Gulf Freeway. According to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement webpage, Walter is employed with the sheriff's office as a deputy.
The jail said Walter was released later that morning on pretrial bond. ABC13 said it had contacted the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Galveston County Sheriff's Office for more details and was awaiting a response.
